Patron's Message

The Melbourne Junior Chamber of Commerce performs an important role in supporting the development of our city’s young entrepreneurs.

In a relatively short amount of time, less than 200 years, Melbourne has emerged as an important international city: both commercially and culturally. Our growth has been punctuated by the great achievements of determined people, many of them entrepreneurs exhibiting courage, intelligence and persistence.

Today, Melbourne forms part of a global economic community and our future prosperity rests no less upon our ability to foster knowledge and establish new industries on the world stage. In this global environment, we must ensure adequate resources and support is allocated to the sustainable development of Melbourne-based businesses.

The Melbourne Junior Chamber of Commerce offers many opportunities to the business community of Melbourne. The chamber upholds our tradition of education and training, particularly in the development of leadership skills. It also acts as a facilitator, ensuring the ideas and energy of our young businesspeople is captured and presented to the broader business community.

As patron of the Melbourne Junior Chamber of Commerce, it is my pleasure to wish the Board and members well as they prepare a program of services and activities for our city’s talented young businesspeople.
